Calling all Parents and Loved Ones of a Superhero!

This event is designed to help you walk in your child's or loved one’s shoes by wearing Stelo by Dexcom, a glucose biosensor. Stelo is a glucose biosensor designed for adults 18 years and older not on insulin. It provides glucose readings every 15 minutes and does not include alerts, making it ideal for those not on insulin to monitor how daily habits impact their levels.

Purpose

To gather insights and experiences from parents and loved ones of those living with diabetes.

Experience

Participants* will wear Stelo by Dexcom, a glucose biosensor, to better understand their Superhero’s glucose monitoring experience.

Why Participate?

This focus group aims to create a supportive environment where you can share your own experiences and strategies for supporting your child’s or loved one’s diabetes.

By participating, you will have the opportunity to connect with other parents and loved ones who understand the unique challenges and joys of supporting a person living with diabetes. Your insights will help us improve our understanding and support for families like yours, fostering a community of empathy and shared experiences.

Parent/Loved One Perspective & Emotional Connection

Explore the emotions and connections that arise when considering wearing a glucose biosensor.

Knowledge & Assumptions

Discuss what you expect to learn about your own body and glucose levels, and how you might react differently to your personal CGM data.

App Experience

Share your thoughts on using the CGM app for your own data and any features you are excited or nervous about.

Reflection on Child’s/Loved One’s Use

Understand your child's/loved one’s experience with CGM better and discuss any new information you wish you could monitor.

Follow-Up

Reflect on how experiencing CGM yourself might change the way you talk about diabetes management with your child/loved one and make medical technology less intimidating.

Pre-registration required. Must be 18 years or older and not on insulin to participate.

To ensure a meaningful experience, registration will be capped at 40 participants.
